Ashdown Engineering Ashdown Engineering: Ashdown Bass Effect Pedals come in six models. The Chorus Plus  pedal is just for bass players. In addition to the standard Depth and Speed controls, the Plus part of this pedal can be switched in to provide flanging and a unique range of delay effects. The Drive Plus generates a wide range of bass distortion effects from a slight grunge through to no holds barred, high-gain overdrive.  The Dual Band Compression  splits the signal into high and low frequency bands and applies compression separately to both – fast attack and decay for the high frequency and slow attack and decay for the low frequency or fundamental waveform of the note. The amount of compression applied to each is independently variable and the balance between the high and low frequency components of the signal is also controllable as they are re-combined into a single, full range output.  The Envelope Filter is capable of a wide range of effects from auto-wah through to spaced-out, auto-triggered funky tones, the sweep of the filter can be either up or down with selection of band-pass or high pass filter modes. A peak control is provided to deepen the ‘Q’ for more extreme effects and the depth of the effect is controlled by the volume of each note as it’s played, making this a truly creative and dynamic pedal.   The James LoMenzo HyperDrive features a band of frequencies within the midrange of the bass signal which is filtered out and the distortion effect is added only to this band. The filtered frequencies can be ‘tuned’ to the precise range that gives the optimum effect. The degree of distortion available is variable from a subtle break up to huge overdrive, enabling a new range of extreme effects for bass to be created. The distortion effect can then be mixed with the original dry bass signal to maintain a powerful, full-bodied bass tone with distortion overtones.  The Sub-Octave Plus generates a note one octave below the note being played, at the same volume and based on the waveform of the original signal. By blending the sub-octave note with the original signal, bass players can move from a subtle reinforcement of the sound to truckloads of bone-crushing tone. As a further Plus, distortion can be added to the sub-octave note, with the amount and tonal characteristics of the distortion both adjustable by the player. Website: Ashdown Engineering

Tech 21 Tech 21: The Tech 21 NYC XXL Base Edition's Warp™ control manipulates the structure and balance of odd and even harmonics and influences their relativity to the dynamics of your instrument and your playing style. In other words, you can achieve a variety of results, even within the same setting, depending on the manner and force of your pick attack. Originally in production from 1995-2000, some guitar players considered the XXL a little too over-the-top. Oddly enough, certain bass players seemed to like it just fine. So we decided to split the atom and try to make both camps happy.Website: Tech 21
